I have been working with Tanya since around 2016. In the time we’ve worked together she has fulfilled the roles of Assistant Editor, Offline Editor, Online Editor and Post Production Coordinator. She has excellent knowledge of the Avid Media Composer software as well as being proficient in Final Cut Pro 7 & X, Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects and Pro Tools. She has recently also added DaVinci Resolve to her list of software.

Tanya is one of the few editors that I know who can seamlessly switch from creative story editor, to clinical online editor, to technical support.

She has worked with me on many different productions including multiple seasons of Boer Soek ’n Vrou, Die Byl, Ring of Lies, Plaasjapie S1 and many others. On these productions Tanya’s main roles were online editor and Post Production Coordinator, however she was also often one of the offline editors. She is just as comfortable editing music as she is doing basic visual effects. She has applied her offline editing skills in editing everything from scripted and non-scripted drama episodes to promos whilst her unwavering focus and attention to detail makes her invaluable in her role as online editor.

What makes her truly unique though, is her ability to explain complex technical or emotionally driven concepts to new editors. It is a rare skill to be able to impart the knowledge gained to the next generation.
