Kwa Mamazala S01
Kwa Mamazala is a South African sitcom about Mam’Sheila, a sharp-witted matriarch who controls her family by dangling the promise of inheritance over her three sons. As she plays her sons, and their wives, against each other, shifting favour and stirring tension in the household, the family is pulled into constant rivalry, with peace always just out of reach.

As Head of Post-Production for Season 1 of Kwa Mamazala, I oversaw the full post-production pipeline, managing a small team consisting of one Assistant Editor and one Offline Editor. In addition to supervising workflow and scheduling, I also worked as the Online Editor, ensuring the final episodes met creative expectations and technical broadcast specifications. My role included quality control across picture and sound, as well as final conform and delivery. I also designed and created the series title sequence and logo, contributing to the show’s overall visual identity.
A key challenge on Kwa Mamazala was shaping comedic timing while editing dialogue in a language I do not speak or understand. This required a strong reliance on performance cues, pacing, and close collaboration with an experienced editor on the team, whose support was essential in identifying nuance and ensuring the humour landed effectively.
