As Head of Post-Production, I was responsible for overseeing all post workflows and scheduling across the production.
I managed the end-to-end post-production pipeline for Season 01, including coordination between editorial, colour grading, and final audio mix teams. This included aligning departmental workflows, maintaining production schedules, and ensuring smooth handovers between each stage of post.
In addition, I served as Lead and Online Editor, responsible for final assembly, technical conformance, and delivery preparation. I ensured all deliverables met specification and were completed within required deadlines through close coordination across all post-production departments.
One of the biggest challenges on Cookabout was working with children, whose spontaneity and varying levels of on-camera experience required a flexible and thoughtful editorial approach. Maintaining consistency across episodes while preserving the authenticity of the participants was critically important to the success of the series. The post-production process focused on staying true to the creative vision of the show, ensuring that the children's personalities, interactions, and experiences remained genuine while delivering engaging, coherent stories that resonated with the audience. The success of this approach was reflected in the recognition received by the production, with the first season winning the SAFTA for Best Children's Programme.
